MeGUI/iPod Conversion Guide/Setup
From MeWiki
[edit] Basic Info
This section deals with downloading, installing and configuring the required programs correctly.
[edit] Required Programs
To install MeGUI, read the instructions for installing MeGUI. For this guide, you also need to install:
-
DVD Decrypter: DVD Decrypter is the program used to rip the raw DVD data off your DVD. The last available version is 3.5.4.0 and decrypts the vast majority of available DVDs. Size: 850kb. Download here or there.
- Any playback filter / codec pack that can decode ac3/dts audio. My suggestion is the CCCP Codec pack:
-
The CCCP is a codec pack that installs a minimal set of filters that decode the vast majority of files (see [1] for more info). You can download the CCCP from their website and read more about it on the wiki there.
-
Total Filesize: Under 75mb.
[edit] Program Setup
- MeGUI: MeGUI requires no additional setup after you have fully updated it. By default, it will prompt you to update whenever there is one. (Some older versions have the program paths set incorrectly in the settings - you should ensure there are only "\" slashes and no "/" slashes in all program paths.)
- DVD Decrypter: Once installed, set the program mode to IFO mode (mode->IFO) and open up the options. Under the "IFO Mode" tab, set splitting to none.
Once you've done this, proceed to the next section: ripping the DVD.
